PA – DELAWARE RIVER – PHILADELPHIA TO TRENTON – TACONY-PALMYRA BRIDGE – CLOSED TO NAVIGATION
The highway drawbridge – SR 73/Tacony-Palmyra Bridge, over the Delaware River, at mile 107.2, between Tacony, PA and Palmyra, NJ, will be maintained in the closed-to-navigation position to facilitate bridge maintenance of the bridge bascule spans. The bridge will be maintained in the closed position from midnight on August 31, 2019, through 11:59 p.m. on November 12, 2019. During the closure period, the bridge will open on signal, if at least two hours prior notification is given; except, from midnight on September 30, 2019, through 11:59 p.m. on October 4, 2019, and from midnight on October 9, 2019, through 11:59 p.m. on October 13, 2019. A containment system will occupy the bridge spans, reducing the vertical clearance of the bridge to approximately 47 feet above mean high water in the closed position from midnight on September 30, 2019, through 11:59 p.m. on October 4, 2019, and from midnight on October 9, 2019, through 11:59 p.m. on October 13, 2019. Vessels able to pass through the bridge in the closed position, and in the closed position with the reduced vertical clearance, may do so at any time. The bridge will not be able to open for emergencies. At all other times, the drawbridge will operate in accordance with the operating regulations set out in Title 33 Code of Federal Regulations Part 117.716 (a).
